Yogi Adityanath takes oath as Uttar Pradesh CM for second consecutive term

Yogi Adityanath was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for a record second straight term at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah were present along with the State Governor Anandiben Patel at the swearing-in.

Chief Ministers of several BJP-ruled states were also present at the event, along state cabinet ministers and industrialists. Anurag Thakur, Dharmendra Pradhan, Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal, Bhupendra Yadav, Smriti Irani were among the many in attendance.

Massive preparations were underway since Thursday for the gala ceremony, ushering in ‘Yogi 2.0’

The BJP claimed a voting share percentage of 41 percent this time in UP. The next on the list was Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party that claimed a voting share percentage of 32 per cent.

Yadav took a jibe at Adityanath after the oath-taking event, as he congratulate the new government under the monk-turned-mantri. Yadav snidely pointed out that the swearing-in ceremony took place at the stadium built by his government.

According to an ANI report, PM Narendra Modi was seen waving at the crowd at the stadium. Other newly sworn-in ministers, including KP Maurya – who was retained as the deputy CM, was also present with him.
