What Was That Bang That Bengaluru Just Heard?

While Bengaluru just witnessed a Big Bang moment, doomsday scenarios are taking over from the usual COVID-19 panic to the coming of aliens.

Cityfolk were left wondering whether it was something as mundane as a jet sonic boom, thunder or the coming of a cyclone down south , or an actual earthquake. The more adventurous thinkers are going for extraterrestrial theories on social media.

This much is certain. A loud noise – much like a huge crash – was heard across Bengaluru around 1.20 pm today. Much of east Bengaluru – from Kempegowda International Airport, Kalyan Nagar, MG road, Marathahalli, Whitefield, Sarjapur and Electronic City was jolted by the event.

While the Air Force is yet to confirm if there has been any fighter jet movement, .Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre (KSNDMC) has said that no seismic activity has been recorded today in Bengaluru. Cyclonic wind systems could be a probable cause.

There are no signs of damage at present, while the cause is ascertained. While panic was triggered among a city under lockdown, those vibrations seemed to have died down as well.
