22 companies have picked up tender document worth INR 10 lakh for each of the 2 new IPL franchises

Bids to own a team at 1 out of 6 cities — Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Cuttack, Dharamsala, Guwahati and Indore

Base price for new teams is pegged at INR 2000 crore

Only 10 parties placed their bids, from the original 22

Only 5 to 6 serious bidders expected in fray

All parties have been asked to submit 2 envelopes — one for personal and financial credentials and the second for the bid.


The BCCI had extended its ‘Invitation to Tender’ twice and had extended the deadline till October 20th, so that Manchester United can take part in the bidding

The 2 new IPL franchises are expected to go for INR 7000 crore to INR 10000 crore each
