Enter the Dragon of Politics: Baba Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

The Indian government went a step further and categorically made sure that ‘Sand’ gets company of ‘Coal’. The emergence of Congress critic Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and usually quiet Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji blasting AAP’s Kejriwal, came as a surprise. Plato said, “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” Perhaps they read his statement regularly to stand for country at this crucial phase of elections. May be they could not resist themselves to take this plunge.

Baba Ramdev offered cure for most of our health problems. Now it looks that he wants to cleanse the political system. He openly said Congress is disastrous for the country and wrong tax policies are the reason for inflation. He supports only Bank Transaction Tax and removal of other taxes. He bats for BJP’s agenda of bringing back black money from Swiss Banks. In March, 2013 he announced that he will form his own party called ‘Bharat Swabhiman Party’. However, by October 2013 he backed off! The reasons which are still not clear. He is a firm supporter of Narendra Modi for PM post. Few days back, Sri Sri Ji who has revolutionized modern living by his ‘Art of Living’ course criticized AAP’s Kejriwal. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said, “Kejriwal, like all other political leaders, had hidden ambitions and agendas to come to the forefront. Cheap publicity stunts, self-contradiction, over-ambition and autocracy tarnished the positive image and soon many respectable people became disillusioned.” He said that AAP has a very callous attitude towards the nation’s economy and security. Importantly, Sri Sri ji praised Narendra Modi and said, “Gujarat was so drought-prone that people had to sell their cattle often. But today there is greenery everywhere. Electricity supply was scarce, hardly two hours a day. Today there is water and electricity in almost every village and per capita income has risen. If people vote for Kejriwal, then it will be disastrous for India.” This is a huge statement from Spiritual Guru who has tremendous following all over world.
