The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has released an evaluation criterion for Class 12 board results today.
Under the new system, the board announced that the past six-year performance of students would be considered for assessment, the board said in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court on Thursday.
As per the finalized marking scheme, CBSE Class 12 would be assessed under the 30:30:40 formula:-
This would be in essence their marks in:
Class 10 (30% – based on best performing 3 subjects),
Class 11 (30% – final exam) and
Class 12 (40% -based on unit test/mid-term/Pre-board)
This would be assessed along with project and practical work in the subjects and best performance of the students in school in the last six years.
Attorney General KK Venugopal told the Supreme Court that each school has to form a result committee whose assessment would be vetted by the moderation committee of the CBSE, with the results to be declared on July 31.
The 13-member panel submitted its report after the board examinations were declared cancelled. The criteria were formed taking into account the best possible scenario for teachers and atudents alike, said the CBSE Exam Controller.
CBSE students unsatisfied with evaluation formula are also given the option to sit for the Class 12 exam, when the overall situation is conducive
The Supreme Court also clarified that that the decision to cancel the exams won’t be revisited.
The boards have been asked to notify their final schemes, with another hearing set for Monday, June 21, to examine additional suggestions.
