Logistics giant Blue Dart renames its Dart Plus service to ‘Bharat Dart’

In a surprising move, Blue Dart Express Limited announced on Wednesday that it was rebranding its premium Dart Plus service as ‘Bharat Dart.’

In an exchange filing, the company explained that the decision to rename one of its service to Bharat Dart stems from an extensive discovery and research process.

Balfour Manuel, Managing Director of Blue Dart said, ‘This rebranding represents an exciting transformation for us as we continue to serve the length and breadth of the country. Bharat Dart is the first step in a new and exciting chapter for our company and our nation.’

‘Bharat Dart is poised to redefine express logistics service in Bharat, offering unmatched speed, coverage, and support for businesses of all sizes,’ the company told exchanges.

Incidentally, Blue Dart’s major renaming move comes at a time when there are speculations that the Indian government could officially rename the country from ‘India’ to ‘Bharat.’

Speculaltion grew after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s placard at the opening of the G20 summit referred to India as ‘Bharat.’

Additionally, there has been speculation regarding a special session of Parliament scheduled to commence on September 18, with the aim of formalizing this transition.

President Droupadi Murmu’s invitation to G20 leaders also used the word ‘Bharat’ instead of ‘India’ a gesture that sparked significant political discussion.

Shares of Blue Dart rose over 2 per cent following the announcement, as the company said ‘This strategic transformation marks a milestone in Blue Dart’s ongoing journey, underscoring its unwavering commitment to serving the diverse needs of Bharat.’

‘Bharat Dart is a time-sensitive delivery service, backed by speed, security and handling with value-added features and benefits like complete visibility on last mile through a robust system and easy payment options,’ the company added about the newly-renamed service.
