A man has been arrested for allegedly giving death threat to actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal through social media, the Mumbai police said.
The Mumbai police registered a case under the IT Act against the accused, at Mumbai’s Santacruz police station.
The man, identified as Manvinder Singh, from Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, was a struggling actor who was looking to get work in films and TV series in Mumbai and was a fan of Ms. Kaif.
According to the police, the actors were getting threats on Instagram and the accused was also stalking Katrina Kaif and threatening her.
Based on the complaint, the Santacruz police registered an FIR under Indian Penal Code Sections 506-II (criminal intimidation) and 354-D (stalking), a police official said.
