Historic Tata-Boeing Deal Will Create Jobs Across the Globe, as Sunak, Biden, Macron Hail Modi

Air India recently announced its agreement to purchase 190 Boeing 737 MAXs, 20 Boeing 787s, and 10 Boeing 777Xs – a total of 220 firm orders valued at a list price of $34 billion.

This is in addition to its deal with Airbus where it signed on to acquire 250 aircraft, making this order of 470 total aircraft one of the biggest international deals in aviation history.

US President Joe Biden hailed the deal as ‘historic’ and said the partnership would create millions of jobs in the US, where Boeing is heaquartered.

French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also welcomed the deal, as Boeing and Airbus would also be using Rolls-Royce engines, creating jobs for the aviation sector in the UK and France as well.

Analysts predict the creation of a million jobs in the US alone and about 200,000 jobs in India owing to the mega-deal.

US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had at their Tokyo meeting in May 2022 announced to elevate and expand the strategic technology partnership and defence industrial cooperation between the the two countries, across businesses and academic institutions.
