Fresh Clashes Erupt Between India And China in Ladakh

Chinese troops have reportedly violated the agreement reached earlier in the ongoing standoff in Eastern Ladakh.

The PLA carried out “provocative military movements” in an attempt to change the positions taken in the dialogue.

The Government released a statement on the situation saying that Indian troops pre-empted and have thwarted this PLA activity, which is said to have been undertaken “on the night of 29-30 August.”

The statement further upheld the Indian Army’s committment to peace through dialogue, while emphasizing its duty to protect its territorial integrity.

A Brigade Commander-level Flag meet is in progress at Chushul to resolve the flare-up.

While the Indian forces were well-prepared to deal with any transgressions as in this case, the Chinese intent on ground seems to be disconnected from the ongoing talks.
