Elon Musk?s favorite cryptocurrency, Dogecoin is now accepted for payments in Tesla

Dogecoin can now be used to buy an array of things on Tesla, according to tweet by CEO Elon Musk.

Musk had earlier announced that Dogecoin was to be a part of Tesla’s payment options, but there was no intimatoin as to when it would happen. While the crytpo community was awaiting official confirmation, Tesla rolled out a support page solely for Dogecoin-enabled payments, which came to the notice of users.

While you may not be able to splurge on a Model X just yet, customers can purchase everything from Cyberwhistles to quad bikes with Dogecoin.

You would need a Dogecoin wallet to enable payments through Dogecoin.

During check out, the payments page would reflect the wallet via an alphanumeric code and a QR code, for uses to transfer funds from their respective wallets.

The announcement saw DOGE surge by 11.95%, trading at $0.1926.
