Chaos at Mumbai Airport as all systems crash

The servers at Terminal 2 of Mumbai airport, one of the busiest in the world, were down for nearly an hour today, leading to long queues, as check-ins were done in the manual mode.

Flights were delayed and many were inconvenienced as a network cable was cut due to ‘ongoing work elsewhere in the city’ said the firm that operates the Mumbai airport, India’s second busiest after Delhi.

T2, the terminal most affected deals with international flights but is also used for domestic routes.

As chaos broke out with people sharing their experiences on social media, CISF said in a statement that the ‘crowd is slightly more than normal.’

News agency ANI reported at 7 pm that normal services have resumed after ‘operations were disturbed for about 40 minutes,’ though many flyers reported that they were delayed by at least two hours.
