Mumbai Indians Retain SKY

Suryakumar Yadav has been retained by Mumbai Indians. Contrary to the reports which suggested SKY alongside Hardik Pandya will be heading into the mega auction, the five-time champions retained him alongside Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard.

This means Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan will be released, although both may be picked up by the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 mega auction.

IPL Teams Purse Increased

The eight existing Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises will submit their player-retention list on Tuesday for the 2022 edition of the tournament. for the mega auction the purse of each franchise have been increased to 90 crore.

The franchises are allowed to retain a maximum of four players, while the two new franchises, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, can acquire three from the rest of the player pool before the January auction.
