Qrius Quotient: The Ram Mandir Consecration in Numbers

The 51-inch Ram Lalla idol consecrated at the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir on January 22 is carved out of black stone by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, and represents 5-year-old Lord Ram 

Constructed in the traditional Nagara style, the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir has a length (east-west) of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a height of 161 feet

The size of the land parcel the Ram Temple is being built on is 2.7 acres

The foundation of the temple has been constructed with a 14-meter-thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC)

For protection against ground moisture, a 21-foot-high granite plinth has been constructed

The Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir is supported by a total of 392 pillars and has 44 doors

The ground floor features 160 columns, while the 1st floor is supported by 132 columns. The 2nd floor, showcasing intricate design and detailing, is upheld by 74 columns, contributing to the overall stability

There are a total of 5 mandaps (halls) in the temple, the Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prathana Mandap and Kirtan Mandap

Each floor of the 3-storied Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir is 20 feet tall

The main entrance to the temple is situated on the eastern side, approached by ascending 32 stairs through the Singh Dwar

At the 4 corners of the compound, there are 4 temples, dedicated to Surya Dev, Devi Bhagwati, Lord Ganesh and Lord Shiva

The parkota (rectangular compound wall) with a length of 732 meters and a width of 14 feet, surrounds the Mandir

The temple is being constructed entirely using traditional and indigenous technology. It is being constructed with particular emphasis on environmental-water conservation with 70% of the 70-acre area being left green

The estimated cost at which the temple is being built is INR 1,800 crore

The Ram Lalla consecration rituals began from the Saryu river on January 16

The rare planetary alignment of an auspicious 84 seconds on January 22 was the single window for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to perform the consecration ceremony, which lasted about 45 minutes in total
