Qrius Quotient: PM Modi inaugurates Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Swarved Mahamandir, a magnificent 7-floor temple,  in Varanasi’s Umaraha area

PM Modi marked his 2nd visit to the holy city, the first being in December 2021

Following the inauguration, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath joined PM Modi for a tour of the meditation centre in the complex that can seat 20,000 people at a time 

Prime Minister Modi participated in the centenary celebration of the founding of Vihangam Yoga and commemorates the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Vihangam Yog Sansthan

Vihangam Yoga and Vihangam Yog Sansthan were established by Sadguru Sadafal Deoji Maharaj, a 19th-century spiritual leader, yogi, mystic poet, and seer, whose idol rests in the temple

The Swarved Mahamandir temple has 125-petal lotus domes. The construction involved the collaborative efforts of 600 workers and 15 engineers. The complex design features teakwood ceilings and doors with intricate carvings, along with 101 fountains

It is located approximately 12 km from the Varanasi city centre and covers an expansive area of 3,00,000 square feet

The foundation of the Mahamandir was laid in 2004 by Sadguru Acharya Swantantra Dev and Sant Pravar Vigyan Dev

3,137 Swarved verses are engraved on the Makarana marble of the seven-floor superstructure.
