Over 93.3 percent people voted for Bhagwant Mann as the CM candidate in a survey conducted by AAP, party head Arvind Kejriwal announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

Earlier, Kejriwal had announced the launch of a phone number (70748 70748), which the citizens of Punjab could call/ message or WhatsApp to choose their CM candidate.

Bhagwant Mann has been a member of the Aam Aadmi Party since 2014 

Born on 17 October 1973, Mann hails from Sangrur district in Satoj village

Mann had contested on an AAP ticket in the General Elections in 2014

Mann won from Sangrur with a margin of over 2,00,000 votes, becoming one of four AAP MPs in the 2014 elections. In the 2019 General Elections, he again won the Lok Sabha seat from Sangrur by 111,111 votes

As a comedian, Bhagwant Mann, in his 30-year comedy career, has made more than 20 comedy albums and also appeared on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. He has also acted in 13 Punjabi films

The state of Punjab is slated to go to the polls for 117 Assembly seats on 20 February.
