Prime Minister Narendra Modi announces major infra push in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached poll-bound Madhya Pradesh where he laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than INR 50,700 crore during an event in Bina in the state.

PM Modi inspected and inaugurated the model of ‘Petrochemical Complex’ at Bina Refinery, from the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, a the state-of-the-art refinery which will be developed at a cost of about INR 49,000 crore.

The refinery will produce about 1,200 KTPA (Kilo-Tonnes Per Annum) of ethylene and propylene, vital components for various sectors like textiles, packaging and pharma among others.

As per an official release, this refinery launch is aimed at reducing the country’s import dependence and be a step towards fulfilling the prime minister’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’

While addressing a rally in MP, PM Modi said, ‘Govt will provide 75 lakh new gas connections to women in the country,’ ten new industrial projects across the state are also planned be started.

PM Modi said “Today, the inauguration of Petrochemical Complex at Bina Refinery will help in making India Atmanirbhar…The modern Petrochemical complex will take Bina to new heights. With this new industries will come here and MSMEs will get opportunities and youth will get job opportunities,”

Ater laying the foundation stone of projects worth more than INR 50,700 crore during an event in Bina, the PM said, ‘Bundelkhand is the land of bravehearts. It has the blessings of both Bina and Betwa.’

He added ‘I want to thank Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his government for giving me the opportunity to come and meet the people of the state. Today, we will lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than INR 50,000 crores. Even the budget for several states in our country is not INR 50,000 crores…’

The PM also reserved some comment for the opposition bloc INDIA, saying ‘This INDI alliance doesn’t have a leader…they have also decided on a hidden agenda to attack India’s culture. The INDI alliance has come with a resolution to end ‘Sanatan’ culture..’

Terming the opposition INDIA alliance as ‘ghamandia‘ (arrogant) and alleging that it wants to destroy ‘Sanatan Dharma‘, the PM spoke after laying the foundation stone of the petrochemicals complex

‘The ‘ghamandia‘ (INDIA) alliance (leaders) met in Mumbai recently. They neither have any policies or issues nor a leader. They have a hidden agenda of attacking Sanatan Dharma, which they want to destroy,” he thundered.

His statement comes in the wake of remarks made by DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Speaking on the G20 summit, PM Modi said, ‘You all have seen how India has successfully organized the G20 Summit. The credit for the success of the G20 Summit goes to the people of the country. It is the success of 140 crore people.’

After this, PM Modi visited poll-bound Chhattisgarh to launch a series of rail development projects. The PM stopped in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh to launch the rail sector projects worth around INR 6,350 crore

‘There was a time when Chhattisgarh was known only for Naxalite attacks and violence. After the efforts of the BJP government, today Chhattisgarh is being recognized because of the development work done here’ Modi said in Raigarh.

PM Modi said the railway and the healthcare projects that have been launched in Chhattisgarh will give impetus to state’s socioeconomic development and that ‘today, world’s major institutions are talking about learning from India’s success.’

This was the PM’s second visit to Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh, where the BJP lost power in 2018 after ruling the state for 15 consecutive years.

The PM also laid the foundation stone of 50-bed ‘critical care blocks’ to be built in nine districts of Chhattisgarh, under the Centre’s healthcare initiative.

The nine critical care blocks will be built under the ‘Pradhan Mantri-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM)’ at Durg, Kondagaon, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Jashpur, Surajpur, Surguja, Bastar and Raigarh districts at a cost of more than INR 210 crore, he noted.

Officials said PM Modi will also distribute one lakh sickle cell counselling cards to the screened population under the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission (NSAEM). 

The PM’s visit to Chhattisgarh comes two days after the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rolled out its ‘Parivartan Yatra‘ (March of Change) with an aim to oust the ruling Congress from power in the year-end assembly polls.
