Pakistan stuns India with a 10-wicket win in T20 World Cup 2021

Skipper Babar Azam played a majestic knock of 68 while partner, Mohammad Rizwan, smashed 79 as the Indian bowlers seemed to run out of ideas against the flow of runs.

Earlier, Virat Kohli’s half-century helped India recover from a disastrous start, that saw Shaheen Afridi blaze through in-form KL Rahul’s defense to hit middle stump, after the young left-armer caught Rohit Sharma plumb LBW. It once again a perceived weakness of the Indian top-order against left-arm quicks.

India cobble together a decent, but not match-winning, 151/7. Besides Kohli’s 49-ball 57, before he was caught behind to Afridi who was having a dream World Cup opener, Rishabh Pant slammed 39 in 30 deliveries, as they formed a semblance of a partnership, after India lost the toss and conditions seemed to favor the Pakistani pace attack.

Pakistan chased down the target of 152 with 13 balls to spare, brilliantly mixing attack and defense.

The opening pair never looked in trouble and chased down the target comfortably to register an emphatic start to their World Cup campaign.
