Russian President Vladimir Putin would rule the country for his lifetime, has been the general speculation about the strongman’s political career.
Now there has been added speculation that he may have plans to step down as early as January next year, amid whispers that he may have Parkinson’s.
The 68-year-old Russian President has symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, according to a keen Kremlin watcher and political observer.
Observers, who analysed his recent footage, believe he appeared to be in pain and had twitching fingers holding things and constant leg movement pointing to the fact that he may be suffering from some health complication, which may or may not be associated with Parkinson’s symptoms.
Russia is allegedly drafting a law, which is being pushed by Putin himself, guaranteeing him a senator post for life, immunity from any kind of prosecution and all perks from the state.
Rumours are also rife about a successor. Though the President is shown in his customary photo-ops, engaging in all kinds of physical activity, insiders believe that is him putting on a brave face.
The official spokesman has dismissed any and all rumours, saying the practice of appointing a president a senator for life is being applied across the world and has no connection with any resignation.
