India Breaks Vaccination Records On PM Narendra Modi’s Birthday

India administered more than 2 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses on Friday, which happens to be Prime Minister Modi’s 71st birthday.

The Central Government plans a 20-day event, “Seva and Samarpan Abhiyan” to mark PM Modi’s 20 years in public service, along with the aim to break inoculation records on his special day.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted that being able to convince all those who haven’t been inoculated yet to do so would be the best birthday gift for the Prime Minister, terming it ‘Vaccine Seva.’

President Ram Nath Kovind, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Rahul Gandhi and even the Dalai Lama were among the senior leaders who wished PM Modi.

India has now administered over 78 crore doses in the country, the Union health ministry said on Friday, one of the fastest inoculation programs anywhere in the world. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also added this is the fastest pace at which one crore doses have been administered thus far, which is a good sign.
