Check Their Reviews

This is one of the easiest things to check for when verifying a psychic medium.  There are several review sites you can check to see what others think before engaging. If they don’t have any reviews, this person probably isn’t very reliable and should be avoided at all costs.

Before They Start, Ask Questions

A scammer will dodge questions that may not allow them to take your money. It’s very hard to predict anything without first knowing where the sitter lives and their general situation, so a legitimate medium won’t mind answering your queries.

Avoid Offers That Sound Too Good To Be True

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! You cannot expect a psychic reading to cost $1 or even $5. These are predatory sales tactics to lure you in and take your money. You should also be aware of their true rate if you do decide to go with any particular advisor.

Pay Attention to Language

Certain things these advisors say can tip you off as to whether they are authentic.

Beware Guarantees

Any medium that guarantees something is probably not authentic. This means they claim to be able to predict the future, which no one can do with 100% accuracy.

They Make You Doubt Your Intuition

If a psychic tells you that you’re not making the right choice, they may be trying to take advantage of your thinking. The only person who knows what’s best for you is yourself. Most advisors will leave it up to you and then offer guidance on how to go forward.

Excessive Requests For Information

Any legitimate advisor won’t ask too many questions in order to keep their readings accurate and relevant. They’ll ask about your name, age, and the general situation in order to determine which cards or tools they should use when giving you the reading. Keep in mind that if they know these specific details ahead of time, it can be easy for them to tell you anything specific before the reading even begins!

Ask for Their Name

Legitimate mediums are happy to provide you with their name when you ask for it, but scammers are typically very secretive about who they are, so you won’t be able to research them.

Tidy Business Office

A legitimate business office should have a professional feel. It’s hard to say whether or not an office is truly well maintained because many legitimately run offices have clients coming in sporadically throughout the day disrupting things, but anything else should tip you off immediately!

Watch out for Barriers To Talking With You

Many phony spiritual advisors will put up barriers in regards to disclosing whether they are authentic. They will dodge certain questions or try and change the subject. This is what happens when they become uncomfortable and feel like you are on to their act.

Way Too Vague

A scammer will usually give you vague answers such as “You may be feeling something happen in the months to come,” or that they need to look into it further. If they cannot give you any specifics for whatever reason, this is likely a red flag, and they should not be trusted with your money until proven otherwise!

They’re not Listening to You

When you give a fake spiritual advisor information, they’re not really listening to what you say because they already know all of the answers. A reputable medium will be completely focused on your words and body language during the session and won’t go off into their own head and start predicting something for themselves without truly hearing you out.

If They Ask You To Do Anything, Say No

A scam psychic will often ask if it’s okay with you to hold an object that represents you- don’t do this! This is usually done so that whatever “energy” or signal they are receiving can be transferred/manipulated through the object before being passed onto you. It may also simply be their way of ensuring no one else has tampered with the objects they use or distorted your view of their services.

They Are Too Pushy About You Hiring Them

A genuine spiritual advisor will not be pushy about asking you to sign a contract and pay. They want the information they give to you to be free and without influence from your side.

If it Sounds Too Good To Be True, IT IS!

Any time someone tells you that something is going to happen or that they can do something for you that seems like it comes out of left field, this is usually a scam. Beware of anyone who claims they can help resurrect loved ones (unless they’re offering credits for referrals) or predict what numbers are going to appear on the lottery! This is not how any kind of mediumship works and if someone tries telling you otherwise, run as fast as you can.

Now That You Know Their True Intentions…

Once you know how to spot a fake spiritual advisor, make sure you don’t go rushing into choosing an advisor without doing your research beforehand. If you want some help finding the right spiritual medium for you, there are plenty of resources to point you in the right direction.
