Former Australia Cricketer Dean Jones Passes Away In Mumbai

September 24, 2020: Dean Jones died earlier today after suffering a heart attack at a Mumbai hotel.

Jones and fellow Australia player Brett Lee were part of the English commentary team for the ongoing IPL 2020. Lee, was with him, and they had breakfast together earlier, when he suffered the cardiac arrest in the lobby of the hotel. Lee tried to resuscitate Jones by giving him CPR, but was unable to save him.

The Australian’s death came as a shock to the cricket fraternity. From India legend Sachin Tendulkar, to current India head coach Ravi Shastri and India captain Virat Kohli, several players condoled his death on social media.  

Jones capped his career with 11 Test Centuries and was a fine ODI player, before starting a second highly successful innings as a broadcaster.

Mr. Jones was 59.
