Dil Bechara: Sushant Singh Rajput?s Final Film Will Be Pure Heartbreak

July 24 is an important date for Sushant Singh Rajput’s fans and admirers alike. The late actor will light up our screens for the last time with his final film, Dil Bechara, the trailer for which dropped today.

Based on John Green’s 2012 bestseller The Fault In Our Stars, the Bollywood adaptation sees Rajput and debutante Sanjana Sanghi play the role of two young adults battling cancer, who fight to live life to the fullest.

Mukesh Chhabra, who marks his directorial debut with Dil Bechara, took to Instagram following the trailer release to express his mixed emotions. In a heartfelt note, he called the movie a dream of his brother Sushant and has asked viewers to watch the movie as a medium “to celebrate a life that lived and will forever be in our hearts”.

To many, the Dil Bechara trailer is brought to life with Rajput’s Manny and his contagious smiles that are almost heartbreaking.

Kriti Sanon, Rajput’s friend and actor, writes, “It’s gonna be really hard to watch this one.. but how can i not?”

It’s undeniably a very beautiful trailer and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared the same sentiment.

The movie was initially slated for a theatrical release on May 8 but got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Following Rajput’s death by suicide on June 14, Disney Plus Hotstar announced that it would premiere the movie on its platform. The movie will be available for free to both subscribers and non-subscribers to pay tribute to the legacy Sushant Singh Rajput has left behind.
