An Open Letter to People Who Have Lost Their Willpower

Do you feel trapped or unaffected? Is everything and everyone else moving forward without you? It is very acceptable to feel like you have slipped behind, my buddy. In truth, those you are witnessing advance have all been left behind at some point. Despite your difficult time,

The good, the terrible, and the ugly all happen in life. Nobody can predict what will happen, and despite what may appear to be a bad hand, the most difficult challenges teach the most valuable lessons. Uncertainty and unpredictability are part of everyone’s lives. There must come a time in life when you must accept both the good and the terrible. It is all about timing. Everything appears to be stuck because if you are giving it your best and it still has not happened, then the time is not right. In reality, things are bad until they aren’t. And there is no amount of wallowing in self-pity that will improve your situation.

We are all human beings with a responsibility to make possibilities for ourselves. Stop listening to those who are at a different stage of their lives – you know who I am talking about, right? Accept that each person is handed a unique deck of cards, and it is up to them to make that deck work for them. Use your negativity to motivate you to become the person you actually want to be rather than the one you have settled for. You are not a sorceress. You cannot make things work by snapping your fingers. Instead, you must exercise patience and give yourself ample time to figure things out. It is critical to remember that the path to your dreams is what shapes you.

forlorn and helpless This talk may go in a million different directions. People become lost for a variety of reasons. Regardless, each scenario ends the same way: you are stranded, with no discernible aim, direction, or strategy. Since when did you swap life’s unpredictability for the chaotic rut that is bringing you farther and further away from your actual happiness?

When did money, bills, or worldly possessions take precedence over your happiness? How is your health? What drives you?

You watch as others strive tirelessly to achieve their life goals—constantly slaving, grinding, and frantically clawing their way up to where they want to be. Everyone is hard at work, hustling, and full of unwavering resolve. All in the name of pursuing that elusive goal, whatever or wherever it may be.

But what is with all the struggle? You simply cannot comprehend it.

How can they rush forward while you remain anchored to the ground with no clear direction, aim, hope, or dreams, almost as if you cannot do anything to get away no matter what you do? What makes someone feel helpless?

You have experienced those frigid evenings before. On nights when you just sit in bed looking at nothing, finding the motivation to get out of bed is nearly impossible. After all, how can someone exist without a sense of purpose? Not because you are a slacker or unwilling to succeed in life.

But you do not seem to locate your calling, your purpose, or your sense of belonging—and, as in a sad story, it is something that no one understands.

Then the terror begins to seep in.

Your emptiness begins to fight its way out as you grab your blankets and feel the stinging tears ready to flow. You start to worry that you will always be a lost soul. You are always striving to fit in, always trying to forge a connection, always creating bridges that you know will eventually fall into dust.

‘I am at a loss…’ You notice yourself whispering once more. You recall saying it the first time, overcome by the severity of your predicament. You have probably said it so many times that you have lost track. We have all experienced how it feels to be left out, and it is awful. It just so happens that some people can get themselves out of their funk, while others can’t. It seems as though you are trapped in a maze with no way out. The labyrinths are always altering, transforming into something more complex, and driving you back to the beginning.

The problem is that we were all trained to think that we were all born with some cosmic destiny to fulfil. Whatever we do, we shall all end up in some unknown almighty being’s chosen destiny. Right? Right. But how certain are we about that? Sure, you are lost right now. Perhaps you have been a lost soul for far too long. Your sunshine may not arrive today, tomorrow, the next day, the next day, or the following day.

But it will happen.

After all, who said the goal had to be more important than the voyage itself? It is not always about going where you want to go; sometimes it is about ending up where you are supposed to be, whether or not that is where you planned to land. Why do not you embrace your hustle’s picturesque journey with open arms? Why do not you simply lose yourself? Extend your horizons. Continue to throw your connections. Create a tangled network of endless possibilities.

Concentrate on yourself. Take that risky step. Travel. Discover. You will fall in love. Take chances. You may be so preoccupied with trying to discover yourself in this fast-paced world to notice what is there in front of you (which are sadly the most underappreciated). If you still cannot discover yourself after all of this, then take control of your own fate. It is that easy.
