In fact, millions of kids and teenagers go fishing, which is a fun and relaxing activity you can do alone or with two or three friends while remaining socially distant. Or you can bring the dog, lie a blanket down by the shore, pack some goodies, and read a book. It’s up to you.

Kayaking

If you’re a little more active, kayaking is great was to get outside while staying on your own. The calming waters of your favorite lake or river will help with depression and anxiety. If you go alone, make sure you have a life jacket and that someone knows where you are in case of an emergency. It can also be a small group activity for you and your two best friends to embark on since you’ll stay fairly far apart.

Hiking

Walking and hiking are great ways to exercise and get out of the house. You can even take the opportunity to go on a nature trail. This can help people struggling with mental health issues like depression, anxiety, OCD, and addiction recovery, since ensuring they continue to have the support they need can help prevent relapses.

Mountain Climbing

If you need an adrenaline rush, try mountain climbing. Start on small cliffs and be careful. Don’t try with an activity completely alone unless you’re very experienced. Even if you’re under 40, make sure you have your affairs in order in case of an accident. If you live in place where it’s possible, cliff jumping can also be a fun, adrenaline booster.
