Many new and talented young players have marked their debut in the Indian national cricket team in 2023. Some of these new players have already delivered impressive performances and have been seen playing in different formats and series.
The year 2024 began with the T20 International series, where the Indian team played against Sri Lanka at home and won. But veteran players such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma did not participate in this year’s T20 International cricket.
As a result, we witnessed many young guns marking their debut in our national cricket team on various tours. Interestingly, several of them utilized this opportunity to the maximum, delivering trailblazing performances with a display of superior talents and confidence in playing international matches at a very young age.

Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal nominated as one of the “Emerging Players of the Year 2023” delivered some brilliant performances last year. He played amazingly well in IPL 2023, scoring in only 13 balls the fastest-ever fifty, and also emerged as the highest scorer for Rajasthan Royals by securing 625 runs across 14 games. His terrific performance secured him a position in Team India in the July Test series against the West Indies, where he made his test debut and scored 171. Yashasvi scored double ton against England in recent 2024 test series.
Jaiswal will be closely watched this year and expected to deliver stunning play like last year.
Rinku Singh
Rinku Singh shot to the headlines after hitting 5 sixes in a single over while chasing 29 runs in the final over for KKR in IPL 2023. The 26-year-old left-handed batter also quickly made his mark in his debut with Team India during the T20 International series against Ireland. To date, he has played 12 T20 International matches and scored 262 runs in 8 innings off a massive strike rate of 180.69 and an average of 65.5. Rinku Singh is one of the finest finishers for the Indian cricket team and is definitely a player to watch out for in world cricket.
Tilak Varma
After his brilliant performance for Mumbai Indians in last year’s IPL season, 21-year-old Tilak Varma got to mark his debut in Team India during their T20I series against West Indies, scoring half a century in his second game for the national cricket team. He also marked his ODI debut against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2023. Though we have yet to watch him play well in the longer white-ball matches, he is expected to be a superfine batter for Team India, especially in the T20 format.
Ravi Bishnoi
23-year-old Ravi Bishnoi bagged the Number One T20 International bowler award in 2023 and the Player of the Series during the T20 International series against Australia back in December 2023. Bishnoi took 9 wickets in 5 games against the strong opponent side of Australia. He is a smart bowler with impeccable deliveries and is recognized for bowling wicket-to-wicket. He has proven his mettle in the shortest format of cricket and will be a force to reckon with in the coming days.
