DRDO successfully conducted the maiden tests of the indigenously developed surface-to-surface, solid fuel battlefield missile ‘Pralay’ from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, just off the coast of Odisha, source is DRDO confirmed.
India successfully test fired the short-range (350-500 km), guided ballistic missile at around 10:30 am, after all the mission objectives were met, the sources said.
A battery of tracking instruments monitored the launch trajectory along the coastline.

As per sources, ‘Pralay’ is a quasi-ballistic surface to surface missile. The advanced missile has been developed to thwart the threat of enemy interceptor missiles. It also has the ability to change trajectory, after covering a certain range mid-flight.
