There are plenty of stereotypes surrounding the millennial generation, though some of them certainly have some truth to them. Millennials aren’t lazy, however, and they aren’t as entitled as everyone says. But two stereotypes that do hold true when it comes to millennials is their love for two specific products: coffee and video games.
Approximately 30% of the population drinks coffee and 155 million Americans play video games. When it comes to millennials, however, those percentages are much higher. Thankfully, coffee and video games are no longer separate entities — they are now combined within the digital realm.
According to Sprudge, Coffee Talk is a new narrative game that is a lot more chill than the majority of video games out there. Fortnite is cool and sports games can be fun… but chill? It takes a coffee-based game to reach a certain level of chillness.
Coffee Talk, created by Indonesian-based game developer Toge Productions, consists of two main aspects: conversation and making beverages. The game takes place in an alternative and futuristic Seattle (how appropriate), where you run a small cafe and you can serve various coffee blends to humans, elves, and even orcs. That’s it. Your job is to simply pour coffee and listen to stories. Chill.
The game is currently in its demo phase but is available for Window and macOS.
Coffee Talk isn’t the only video game out there that involves coffee. Here are some additional video games that are great for coffee lovers:
- Caffeine — This game takes place in a future dystopia where everyone alive is way too addicted to coffee. Not as chill.
- Coffee Shop Tycoon — This game is just like Roller Coaster Tycoon but, you guessed it, with coffee. Rather than constructing architecturally masterful roller coasters, you will be focusing on creating a successful coffee establishment. You’ll be in charge of everything from brewing the coffee and hiring your staff to construct and decorating the shop.
- Necrobarista — This game takes place in Australia and you work inside a coffee shop with the typical coffee-loving clientele: ghosts, goblins, and ghouls.
- Coffee Rush — A fun coffee-related brain game, you’ll play an independent coffee shop owner trying to compete against the corporate coffee fat cats.
- Coffee Run — Run around the city and get faster with each cup of coffee you drink — just like real life!
- Jo’s Dream: Organic Coffee — Essentially the Diner Dash of coffee shop video games, you simply do all you can to please Joe’s customers. Once you master the first version, try your hand at the sequel: Jo’s Dream: Organic Coffee 2.
- Coffee Maker — This game is an iPhone exclusive, and simply lets you make and share a variety of virtual coffee products.
- Coffee Crisis — In perhaps the most realistic coffee-based video game of all-time, Coffee Crisis involves stopping aliens from stealing all the coffee and heavy metal music from Earth. Not chill, aliens. Not chill at all.
