Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi’s house is reported to be searched by the Central Crime Branch in connection with a drugs case involving the Kannada film industry that allegedly involves his brother-in-law Aditya Alva.
Mr. Alva has been missing since the police launched action in the case.
According to a statement by the Bengaluru police, a court warrant was obtained prior to the Crime Branch team visiting Mr. Alva’s house in Mumbai.
The police have cracked down on the sale and use of drugs and also rave party organisers, having earlier raided a property near Bengaluru’s Hebbal Lake owned by Mr. Alva’s mother, on alleged suspicions of drug consumption by investigating agencies.
The Bengaluru scandal emerged in the wake of ongoing investigations into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in June, by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
