Tata Motors Signs MoU With Uber India to Deliver 25,000 Units of Xpres-T EV

Tata Motors, one of India’s leading automobile manufacturers, has just announced a groundbreaking deal with ride-sharing giant Uber.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two companies, Tata Motors will supply Uber with a whopping 25,000 units of its Xpres-T EV (Tigor for fleet buyers), making it the largest electric passenger vehicle fleet order placed in India to date.

These electric vehicles will be deployed across seven major Indian cities – Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad – in a phased manner, starting this month. They will be available to book under Uber’s premium category ‘Uber Electric’ service.

This deal represents a significant milestone for both Tata Motors and Uber, as they work towards a common goal of reducing carbon emissions and making electric vehicles a more accessible option for the masses.

It’s also a testament to the growing demand for sustainable transportation in India, as more people look for ways to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising on convenience.

In line with its commitment to reducing carbon emissions, Uber has set a goal to ensure that 100% of its rides take place in zero-emission vehicles, public transit, or with micro-mobility by 2040.
