Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who have been living in their $20 million Los Angeles mansion since 2019, have moved out of the property after it became ‘virtually unlivable’ according per a report by Page Six.
The water damage in the property led to a mold infestation and the couple is now in a legal battle with the sellers of the house.
According to reports, the damages to the property have made it ‘dangerous from a health perspective to occupy.’
The couple’s LA property comes with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, temperature-controlled wine cellar, chef’s kitchen, home theatre, bowling alley, spa and steam shower, gym and a billiards room. It was bought by them for $20 million in 2019.
As per the lawsuit, filed in May 2023, the pool and spa began presenting problems soon after the purchase.
The waterproofing issues in the premises led to ‘fostered mold contamination and related issues.’
The complaint also said that around the same time, there was another water leak in the barbecue area on the deck.
Chopra and Jonas are seeking ‘consequential damages.’
The lawsuit, as per Page Six states, ‘In the alternative, plaintiff should be reimbursed for all costs of repair, plus compensation for the loss of use and other damages caused by defendants’ conduct.’
The report suggests that the cost of repairing the property will exceed $1.5 million, and could go up to $2.5 million (approx INR 13 to 20 crores).
Chopra’s last Hindi movie was 2019’s ‘The Sky Is Pink’ with Farhan Akhtar.
Chopra was also announced as one of the stars of Akhtar’s next movie ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, but the project is yet to begin.
She will next be seen in ‘Heads of State,’ with Idris Elba and John Cena.
