The German sports car manufacturer, Porsche AG, has unveiled a super-yacht, which costs a whopping USD 16 million. The 115-foot luxe cruiser will feature a hybrid engine, and will only see seven replicated models in the world. This makes it all the more coveted and exclusive. The first look of the vessel is stunningly beautiful and aesthetically appealing to the senses.
Building and marketing the yacht
In the realm of super-yachts, there are the ordinary product lines, and now comes the Porsche ‘goddess’ which looks more like an elitist statement than a product to be owned. The responsibility to create and build the super-yacht lays with Dynamiq, a Monaco-based builder headquartered in Port Hercule. The reason behind the choice of Dynamiq is its highly experienced team of design veterans who are famous in the industry for their expertise in the field. In order to effectively showcase it to its target customer base, the Dynamiq GTT 115 (as it will be known) will soon find its pre-launch marketing underway as a predominant part of the Monaco Yacht Show.
The yacht’s enviable features
Dynamiq GTT 115 boasts an all-aluminum body with its hybrid engine hitting a top speed of 21 knots. With four posh cabins for guests to lodge in, a pool will grace the deck so cruisers can bask under the sun. Additionally, the interiors will be embellished with intricate designs and textures made of leather, marble, and carbon-fibre.
The market for luxury
According to a market research firm, the global recreational boating market is projected to touch USD 25.3 billion by 2020. The dominant market drivers steering the industry upward are advancements in technologies and increased boat-size. The motivation behind the construction of the rare vessel can be gauged from the words of Roland Heiler, CEO of F. A. Studio Porsche: “Taking the spirit of high-performance sports-car styling to the high seas, the Dynamiq GTT 115 is designed to appeal to car lovers and forward-thinking yacht owners”.The roll-out of an ultra-luxurious and mind-bogglingly pricey yacht speaks volumes about the market that is out there to embrace this regal prize.
It is not hidden that the world economy has given way to a profound disparity of income and wealth distribution. While many of us prefer quenching our boating fantasies by taking a trip down the nearest lake or river, there are a considerable number of people outside that net, for whom the Porsche super-yacht would just be the answer to their ‘needs’—perhaps a distinction that the major global population would attribute an entirely different definition to.
