The probe team was instituted by the Supreme Court after documents were leaked from Panama firm Mossack Fonseca, revealing the hidden offshore wealth of several of the world’s top leaders and celebrities. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was among them.

“Calibri [font] was not commercially available before January 31, 2007 and as such, neither of the originals of the certified declarations is correctly dated and happens to have been created at some later point in time,” Radley Forensic Document Laboratory expert Robert W Radley said on documents submitted to him by the JIT.

However, Maryam Nawaz rejected the allegations, saying, “Every contradiction will not only be contested but decimated in Supreme Court. Not a penny of public exchequer was involved.” In 2016, the Panama Papers revealed that three of Nawaz Sharif’s children owned offshore companies and undisclosed assets, including four expensive flats in Park Lane, London.

The JIT has concluded that Maryam Nawaz is the owner of the flats in London, which the Panama Papers had revealed to be undisclosed assets.
