Neeraj Chopra only the second Indian athlete to win an individual gold at the Olympics once again scripted history as he became the World Number One in Javelin Throw, as per the new rankings released by World Athletics.
Chopra took the lead over reigning world champion Anderson Peter of Grenada by 22 points to top the table.
The 25-year-old athlete from India began his 2023 season by winning the first Diamond League meeting in Doha on May 6 with an effort of 88.67m.
Chopra is now bound for the Fanny Blankers-Koen Games at Hengelo in the Netherlands on June 4
