Mumbai Drug Bust Case: Ananya Panday served summons by Narcotics Control Bureau

Actor Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya Panday has been brought into the NCB offices after she was sent summons earlier today and asked to appear before the anti-drug agency for questioning.

Ms. Panday’s name has cropped up during the investigation earlier, according to NCB sources. Earlier, there were reports that Aryan Khan’s WhatsApp chats included discussions pertaining to drugs with an upcoming Bollywood actress.

The NCB, however, is yet to confirm if Ms. Panaday is in anyway connected to the Aryan Khan matter.

Agency officials were also spotted outside Shah Rukh Khan‘s residence ‘Mannat’, purportedly to collect some documents.

Bombay high court will hear Aryan Khan’s bail plea on October 26, after a Mumbai Sessions Court earlier rejected the initial appeal, his lawyers were quoted as saying by ANI.

In the morning, Bollywood superstar SRK arrived at Arthur Road jail today to meet his son after prison authorities permitted an in-person meeting. Physical meetings will be allowed from today at the prison, as COVID protocols are relaxed.

The special NDPS Act court in its 21-page order noted that WhatsApp chats of Aryan Khan “prima facie revealed that he was dealing in illicit drug activities on a regular basis” and therefore “it cannot be said that he was not likely to commit a similar offence if released on bail.”

The NCB had earlier alleged in court that Aryan was ‘not new to drugs,’ though no narcotics were found on him. The NCB alleged that drugs found on Aryan Khan’s friend Arbaaz Merchant were for Aryan and Arbaaz’s personal consumption.

Khan’s defence rebutted, saying that the NCB has no grounds to continue to keep him in custody, since no drugs were recovered from his person and that his WhatsApp chats only consisted of messages that were unrelated to narcotics or their possession.
