Mahindra Bloomdale, in association with Save Speechless Organization, recently held a pet adoption drive. Over 250 people, including students from 12 different schools across Mihan, Wardha and Nagpur city came together at Bloomdale, one of the highest-selling residential projects in MIHAN (Nagpur) to participate in a pet adoption camp and prize distribution ceremony of an interschool drawing competition. Organized in conjunction with Save Speechless Organization (SSO), the event was aimed at helping students understand the importance of animal welfare and rights.
There were over 1200 entries for the inter-school drawing competition received from top international and CBSE schools across Nagpur. The top 5 picks across categories from each school were invited to Mahindra Bloomdale for the prize distribution ceremony. The topics for the competition were “Save Animals-Save Habitat”, “Stop Caging Animals” and “Pets Our Best Friends” all designed to inculcate awareness in students about the importance of protecting animals. While the final entries were displayed at the sprawling clubhouse in Bloomdale, there were also carnival theme activities organized for kids along with a pet adoption camp in the cricket ground. Attendees were also educated on virtual adoptions of animals, vaccination, sterilization as well as on basic medical awareness about stray animals.

Founded in 2013 as a small animal shelter on the outskirts of Nagpur city, Save Speechless Organization (SSO) works tirelessly for the welfare of stray animals. The NGO aims to not only spread awareness about animal rights and welfare but also works to rescue, restore and rehabilitate stray animals. One of the major tasks undertaken by the organization includes the rescue, shelter, treatment and vaccination of stray animals. With the goal in mind that with proper care and kindness each stray animal can prove to be someone’s lifelong friend, the organization holds pet adoption camps. What once started as a small animal shelter by one person is now an organization now with an active team of over 1500 volunteers. With the belief that “every life matters”, SSO not only protects stray animals but also spearheads the adoption of stray and rescued animals.
