A Japan Airlines (JAL) plane faced an emergency situation on the evening of Tuesday, December 2, at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, one of the country’s busiest.
JAL flight 516 erupted in flames on the runway, as airport authorities suggest it may have been a possible collision with a Japan Coast Guard aircraft that led to the incident.

Fire crews are on scene trying to extinguish the blaze.
A spokesperson at Japan Airlines said the aircraft, JAL 516, originated from Shin-Chitose airport in Hokkaido.
Japan’s worst ever aviation accident was in 1985, when a JAL jet flying from Tokyo to Osaka crashed in the central Gunma region, where more than 500 passengers and crew were killed.
