How Life Has Change For Emma Raducanu

One of the biggest sporting stories of 2021 was Emma Raducanu’s victory at the summer tennis Grand Slam, the esteemed US Open. The British player had to qualify for that tournament in New York and she sailed all the way to the title without dropping a set. As a result of her unexpected success, Raducanu is now set to earn millions in sponsorship and endorsement deals following her seismic win, where she became the first British female player to win one of the four big events in the sport since 1977.

What was so striking about the way Raducanu played at Flushing Meadows was that she was fearless: as the underdog in many of her matches in the main draw, she turned up unfazed and delivered a defiant and inspired series of performances. Moving forward, Raducanu will now be targeting further success in women’s tennis: after all, she still has an outside chance of qualifying for the WTA Finals, the end of season event in Guadalajara, Mexico, which features the top eight players in the world.

In addition, the US Open winner will participate at the Australian Open in January where she’s likely to be one to watch, according to the tennis betting tips. Raducanu is currently at odds of 8.20 to win the Australian Open, outright. However, ahead of her in the race are the likes of Ashleigh Barty with odds of 6.0, Naomi Osaka with odds of 11.0 and Danielle Collins with odds of 51.0.

She may be new to the ranks, but punters would be naive to write her off against the calibre of other prominent female tennis stars. It’s important to remember that Raducanu also made her debut in the US Open and soared to success, stunning critics with actions and not words. If she showed this level of gall at the US Open, it’s certainly fathomable that she could do this again, Down Under.

Raducanu Mixing With Royals

A great example of how Raducanu’s life has now changed was her recent session on the court with the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate Middleton is a keen tennis fan herself and was praised by Raducanu for her skills with the racket.

The event took place at the National Tennis Centre in south London and it was to encourage more people to get involved in the sport. Many will have been inspired by what the British player achieved in New York.

Raducanu received a flurry of messages following her US Open victory and one of those came from the Queen. A meeting with Her Majesty could follow, which will be a proud moment for the new heroine of British tennis.

Met Gala Ball

Just days after winning the US Open title, Raducanu found herself at the Met Gala Ball where she was brushing shoulders with some of the biggest names in fashion, music and acting. She did not look out of place in her outfit from Chanel’s Resort 2022 collection.

Raducanu joined the likes of Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams who are regulars at the Met Gala Ball. They are both hugely influential figures when it comes to women’s sport. If Raducanu continues to have the same amount of success as those players, she could also inherit a similar position.

One thing is for sure, Raducanu’s life has changed since she shook the world in New York. We are going to be seeing a lot more of her on and off the court.
