Farmers protesting against the farm laws alleged one of their group accounts on Facebook was blocked shortly after a press conference held by their representatives was streamed live.
The Facebook page of ‘Kisan Ekta Morcha;, an organisation leading farmers’ protest against the farm laws, was allegedly “unpublished” over a supposed violation of the social networking website’s community standards relating to objectionable content.
The online group had racked up more than 70,000 followers in a matter of days and was used to unite the various unions and address grievances and report updates among other things.
The page was restored after widespread outrage on social media.
