COVID-19 has obviously caused major problems all across the country. The serious problems are paramount, but we shouldn’t overlook the fact that this virus has put a significant damper on family recreation. Family vacations are extremely fun and can help strengthen relationships and create memories that last a lifetime.
Since all we have now is time, it’s a great idea to start planning for your next big family vacation. You and your family have likely been stuck inside for months and might be fed up with each other, bored, and anxious to get out and do something new. Hopefully, COVID-19 is winding down and you’ll actually be able to go on a family trip in the next few months. Until then, you might as well plan out every aspect of your next vacation to avoid any unwanted stress later on.
Here are some great ways to make your next trip an absolute blast for your family:
Star booking flights early on
According to the FAA, there are 24.9 million hours of general aviation flight every year.
Obviously, there is always a chance that COVID-19 will continue and you won’t be able to travel on the day of your trip. But that’s why it’s even more important to do plenty of research early on. Call and talk to a representative at your airline and see if they have any precautions in place in the event of COVID-19 continuing on well past the date you’re planning on flying to your vacation destination.
Don’t rule out travel by limo
Traveling by limo can be 10 times less harmful to the environment than traveling by the average SUV, as long as there are more than a few people traveling in one vehicle.
It’s not always the cheapest option, but it can be an absolute blast to ride in a limo with your whole family! If you’re planning on vacationing only a short drive away, this might be the perfect mode of transportation to truly make this trip memorable!
Get the kids involved
Vacation planning is a lot more fun when your entire family is involved and not just you and your spouse. Have your kids think of their top four or five vacation destinations and start doing some research as a team!
Do they want to go to the beach? Perhaps a winter ski trip is in order? Maybe your children like racing? There are plenty of cool raceways around the country that could be your next vacation destination.
Among average races, there are short tracks, speedways and super speedways that range from 0.5 to 2.5 miles long.
The possibilities are truly endless! Just make sure you’re planning this adventure with your whole family, not just by yourself.
Speak with a travel agent
There are some travel agents that charge for even discussing travel plans — but you can certainly find many legitimate agents that are willing to help for free! Despite popular belief, travel agents don’t always charge fees for booking travel arrangements and they get paid by the companies they actually work with. Travel agents have access to the latest information and can get great deals and help you be much more informed prior to your travels. Pick their brains as much as you can!
Things have been very strange. And there isn’t a family in the U.S. that couldn’t benefit from a relaxing and fun-filled family vacation. Though it might not be possible for the next few weeks — hopefully you can take a trip soon. Start planning everything out with your family and get ready for an amazing vacation!
