Achanta Sharath Kamal handed a loss to Englishman Liam Pitchford to win Table Tennis Gold at the Commonwealth Games, capping a marvelous final day for the Indian contingent.
The veteran player took the gold medal with a 4-1 win
PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen earlier won the the women’s and men’s singes titles in badminton to give India two more gold medals, taking the day’s haul to four golds and India’s total gold tally to 22 now.
The badminton men’s doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy also won gold against England’s Ben Lan and Sean Vendy.
Achanta dropped the first game, only to turn the clock back and play with some sublime touch to prevail.
