The NTA reschedules CUET-UG 2025 to May 13 and sets city intimation slips release on May 7
In a significant announcement for prospective undergraduates from all over India, the NTA postponed the CUET-UG 2025 exam to May 13 and will release the city details on May 7.
This alteration seeks to simplify logistical preparation for more than 13 lakh students by providing access to the location of the exam centers well before the significant national-level entrance test.
What is CUET-UG and Why It Matters So Much?
The Common University Entrance Test Undergraduates (CUET-UG) ranks second in entrance examination size only next to NEET and plays an instrumental part in determining futures within academia. Involving over 13 lakh candidates per annum, it operates as a common gateway facilitating access to admission across more than 250 institutions all over India.
Among the top institutions where CUET registration is open is Delhi University (DU), along with Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and other state, central, and private institutions.
CUET was introduced so that the admissions process can be standardized and unnecessary multiple entrance examinations for students decreased, making entry into higher studies easier.
Altered Schedule: What You Must Know?
Initially scheduled to start on May 8, the NTA has now shifted the starting date of the exam to May 13, according to its official post on X (formerly Twitter).
The city intimation slips will be available for download from May 7. The slips will have the exam city allotted to each student, allowing them to plan their travel and accommodation in advance.
Note that this is not the admit card, but an advance intimation to aid in logistical preparations.
Admit Cards to Arrive Shortly after
Once city slips are out on May 7, admit cards for the official CUET-UG 2025 should follow shortly afterward.
The students should check the official NTA website (https://nta.ac.in) regularly for notices and updates related to the availability of admit cards, exam day guidelines, and other relevant information.
Having admit card and city slip in hand before the examination is crucial to ensure a seamless and hassle-free test day experience.
Why the Rescheduling Was Necessary?
Although no specific explanation has been issued for the move, exam scheduling, polling timetable, or premises availability may have been factors determining the change.
This recalibration provides additional time for the NTA to provide smooth-running arrangements at centers of examination, particularly in the context of the size of CUET-UG and its membership in urban as well as rural areas.
For students, the revised timeline provides a few additional days of preparation, which might be helpful at this stressful study period.
Important Points to Remember for CUET-UG Candidates
- Get your city intimation slip downloaded on May 7 from the NTA website.
- Keep all the necessary documents, such as ID proof and your upcoming-release admit card.
- Make your travel arrangements in advance, especially if your examination center is in a different city.
- Keep checking NTA’s official website for frequent announcements.
- Don’t mix the city intimation slip with the admit card—the two are must-haves, but for distinct purposes.
