The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced new dates for CUET UG 2025, and city slips are now available from today (May 7).
In a major revision for millions of hopefuls, NTA has now officially changed dates for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Undergraduate 2025, which will now start on May 13, 2025, instead of the previously announced May 8. The city intimation slips have also been released today, May 7, containing important logistical information for candidates.
What is CUET UG and Why It Matters?
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) is a single gateway for central, state, and private universities in India and provides students with the ability to apply to several institutions with a single test.
In 2025, CUET UG broke all previous records, recording more than 13.5 lakh applications, and emerging as one of the most competitive entry exams for undergradients across the nation. This hike in applications demonstrates increased faith and reliance on the CUET mechanism for efficient and fair admissions.
New Format: Entirely Online and Digitized
The CUET UG of this year ushers in a significant change in examination procedure. In contrast to earlier versions of mixed paper-based and online examinations, CUET UG 2025 will be held solely in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
Here is a brief summary of the new format:
- 37 subject papers shall be held online.
- Each paper shall be of 60 minutes duration.
- 50 multiple-choice questions for each subject.
- Two to three shifts daily, based on capacity of center.
This completely digital form is intended to provide efficiency, transparency, and scalability in light of the sheer number of examinees.
No Detailed Date Sheet This Year
In an unexpected move, the NTA has decided not to release a formal, subject-wise date sheet this year. Instead, all essential exam details — including date, shift, and exam city — will be included in the advance city intimation slips, which candidates can now access via the official CUET website.
This shift seeks to provide a more customized and structured test-taking experience, precluding scheduling logjams and reducing logistical headaches at test centers.
How to Download the City Slip and What It Contains?
From today, May 7, 2025, onwards, candidates can log in to the CUET UG official website and download their advance city intimation slip. This slip is not the admit card, but it will contain vital pre-exam details like:
- Exam city and center location
- Alotted exam date
- Shift timing and subject schedule
It is important for students to go through their slip early and make arrangements for travel and preparation accordingly.
CUET PG 2025 Results Declared
While CUET UG candidates prepare for their exams, the NTA has declared results for CUET PG 2025 too. The postgraduate exams took place from March 13 to April 1, 2025, entirely in CBT mode, across multiple centers throughout the country.
Applicants who wrote the CUET PG can now view their results on the NTA website.
