The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the following holidays:
April 29, 2025 (Tuesday) – Parshuram Jayanti
- Occasion: Birthday of Bhagwan Shri Parshuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu
- Bank Status: Closed in Himachal Pradesh
April 30, 2025 (Wednesday) – Akshaya Tritiya & Basava Jayanti
- Occasion 1: Akshaya Tritiya – a propitious day for prosperity
- Occasion 2: Basava Jayanti – observed in Karnataka in remembrance of Basavanna, the founder of the Lingayat sect
Bank Status:
- Closed in several states for Akshaya Tritiya
- Closed in Karnataka for Basava Jayanti
May 1, 2025 (Thursday) – Labour Day / May Day
- Occasion: International Labour Day (May Day)
- Also Known As: Maharashtra Day and Gujarat Day
- Bank Status: Pan-India bank holiday (all public sector and private sector banks will be closed)

Even when banks are technically closed, you can still take care of your finances using:

- ATM services
Note: Cheque or promissory note transactions regulated under the Negotiable Instruments Act will not be undertaken during holidays.
