BajajBajaj Launches Cheapest Chetak Electric Scooter 3503

If you’re considering making the shift to an electric scooter, the time could be right now. Bajaj Auto has introduced its most affordable variant in the Chetak 35 series lineup—the Chetak 3503. The new model comes with a price tag of mere ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), making the aspiration of having a Chetak scooter within the reach of people with a low budget.

The Chetak 35 range was first introduced in December 2023 with cosmetic and mechanical improvements. Though the Chetak 3501 and 3502 were already present in the market, the price reveal for the 3503 rounds off the range, providing an affordable yet stylish and efficient solution for Indian motorcyclists.

New Chassis and Increased Storage Capacity

The new Chetak 3503 boasts a completely new chassis design, housing the powerful 3.5kWh battery pack under the floorboard. The intelligent layout also provides huge under-seat storage space of a whopping 35 liters, plenty of room for helmets, bags, or essentials—perfect for city commuters.

Impressive Range and Battery Specs

The Chetak 3503 carries a 3.5kWh battery and has an IDC-certified range of 153 km on full charge. Its real-world ride range is likely to be between 120–125 km. This makes it an ideal candidate for daily usage and weekend tasks without the incessant fear of running out of charge.

Chetak 35 Series Price Breakdown and Warranty

Here’s how the price of the Chetak 35 series breaks out:

Model Ex-Showroom Price
Chetak 3501 ₹1,27,243
Chetak 3502 ₹1,19,999
Chetak 3503 ₹1,10,000

Bajaj is providing a 3-year / 50,000 km warranty for the entire Chetak 35 range, which will provide buyers with confidence when investing in electric mobility.

Greater Reach and Convenient Buying Options

The Chetak electric scooters are now sold in 507 Indian cities. You can buy them online from Amazon and Flipkart, or book them directly from Bajaj’s website. All the units are produced at Bajaj’s Akurdi factory in Pune, where the first Chetak scooter was launched in 1972.

Performance: Powerful Yet Practical

Although Bajaj hasn’t provided precise motor specs for the 3503, it’s built on the same electric platform as its brethren. Here’s what we know:

  • Chetak 3501 & 3502: Top speed of 73 km/h
  • Chetak 3503: Top speed of 63 km/h

All scooters are driven by a high-capacity 3.5kWh battery pack, the biggest in the Chetak family.

Charging Speeds:

  • 3501: 950W onboard charger, 0–80% in 3 hours
  • 3502: 950W offboard charger, 0–80% in 3 hours 25 minutes

Retro Styling with Contemporary Engineering

The new Chetak 35 series retains the classic retro look, fine-tuned by contemporary touches:

  • Horseshoe-shaped LED DRL
  • Chrome trim on body panels
  • Sloping tail section
  • 80mm longer seat to provide extra comfort
  • Increased floorboard for more knee space

The scooter also comes with enhanced structural elements for improved battery location and overall balance.
