Anyone who listens to contemporary music knows who Lady Gaga is. If you’ve followed the news at all in recent months, you may have heard about her involvement in an attempted murder and dog-napping. But, of course, Gaga wasn’t the perpetrator; instead, she was the victim in one of those crimes. Let’s dive in and discover the latest developments in this case.
Lady Gaga is no stranger to the spotlight, as her musical accomplishments, bizarre style of dress, and eccentric lifestyle have earned her both front-page stories and industry awards. She is one of many celebrities who are known for their wealth, power, and influence. By 2023, there will be approximately 7.7 million more high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in the world. Certainly, Lady Gaga is among that group, as estimates show that the singer is worth around $150 million.
It’s no wonder that she has attracted unwanted attention in the past. But Lady Gaga wants nothing more than to just live her life and be left in peace. When she isn’t making music or gracing the silver screen with her presence, she simply wants to enjoy time with her family and her beloved French Bulldogs, whom she sees as her children. It is, in fact, these dogs who proved to be the primary target in this currently developing story.
Family friend Ryan Fischer has been taking care of the celebrity’s dogs for many years and Lady Gaga considers him to be like a member of her family. In one interview, she mentioned how he was someone she would trust with her own life. Fischer proved his dedication to Gaga’s family when he was brutally attacked while walking the French Bulldogs. He was shot by the assailants who made off with the pups.
Doctors say it was a miracle he survived long enough to get medical care, considering the severity of the attack, where he was shot, and the time it took for help to arrive. According to the Association of American Medical Colleges, by 2025, there will be an estimated deficit of between 14,900 and 35,600 primary care physicians. Fortunately, Fischer received excellent medical treatment for his injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. He even recorded and posted a video on social media from the hospital talking about his recovery and pleading with the attackers to return the dogs.
While the dogs were returned unharmed to Lady Gaga shortly after the incident, there was still a massive manhunt going on for the attempted murder. Arrests have been made and L.A. County District Attorney, George Gascón, has released the names of the five suspects. James Howard Jackson, Jaylin Keyshawn White, and Lafayette Shon Whaley were each charged with one account of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and second-degree robbery. Jackson also received two firearm charges — one count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and a felon carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle. White faces one additional charge of assault by excessive force and threat of great bodily injury and risk to an individual’s health and safety. Harold White and Jennifer McBride were also arrested and charged with one count each of accessory after the fact. Harold is facing another charge of unlawful possession of a firearm and McBride faces one count of receiving stolen property for possessing the dogs.
According to The Sentencing Project, there has been a 500% increase in inmate population over the last 40 years. This fact stands true even though there has been an overall decrease in crime. However, that doesn’t mean that crimes aren’t still being committed. And in this case, many are hopeful that justice will be served, the criminals will get what they deserve, and that Fisher reaches full health and receives full compensation for his injuries. For now, Gaga will have to wait to see if the alleged perpetrators will get what’s coming to them via the criminal justice system.
