Filmmaker Raj Kaushal, actress Mandira Bedi’s husband, passed away aged 49 on Wednesday.
Mr. Kaushal suffered a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Wednesday morning, which led to his demise.
Family friends such as actor/host Neha Dhupia, who was among the the close few Mr. Kaushal reportedly spent time with over the weekend, took to social media to express her condolences, saying, “Raj, we took this picture to create more and more memories. Can’t believe you are not with us anymore. Mandira , my strong, strong girl, I am at a loss of words. My heart belongs to Vir and Tara. I’m shaken up and in shock and disbelief as I write this, RIP Raj.”
Mr. Kaushal directed films like ‘Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi’ & ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’ and was also a producer of note, supporting films such as Onir’s
‘My Brother… Nikhil.’
He began his career as a copywriter, starting his own advertising production company in 1998 and went on to direct over 800 commercials.
Apart from his wife, Mr. Kaushal is survived by two children.
